Superstitious Beliefs



1.Sleeping and Dreaming
Avoid recurring dreams by turning your pillow upside down. Always sleep facing east, or you will not face a bright future. If a person sleeps on his/her book, he/she will have a good memory. After studying at night, place the book you’ve been studying under your pillow, and you will retain what you have read.

2. When night falls Don’t comb your hair at night, lest you become bald, orphaned, or widowed. But if you must comb at night, bite the tip of the comb first.
When walking with friends, especially at night, always travel as a group or even number. If it is an odd number, one of you will be taken away by the spirits to make the number even.

3. On New Year’s Day Whatever you do or feel on New Year’s Day will continue the rest of the year. Better to find money on New Year’s Day than spend it. Jumping on New Year’s Eve growth and makes a person taller.

4. Dos and Don’ts To overcome stage fright when speaking in public, tuck one centavo coin inside the shoes you are wearing. Before stepping on an anthill, first ask to be excused. Otherwise, a spirit may play tricks on you. Don’t cut your nails at night, or on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. If you happen to get lost, invert your clothes and you will find your way.
5. When someone sees you and you appear to be headless, it means you’re about to die. Another popular superstition is when someone says that he/she cannot see your head/face, it means that you are going to die. 

6. When three people pose for a picture, the one at the center will be the first to die.

7. On a hot day, you can call forth a gust of wind by whistling.

8. If you sweep your house at night, you can expect bad luck the next day.

9. If you see an ant-hill or termite mound and plan on doing something to it, like piss on it, just give fair warning to the dwarf that lives there.

10. For kids: Eating a fruit pit will cause you to grow branches out of your orifices. The rice you ate will spill out if you get a cut.

11. Acne problems? Just apply some blood from the first menstruation of a pubescent.

12. Seeing a white butterfly will mean riches are in store for the person.

13. You should not walk over someone if they are lying down because they will never grow taller.
14. If you are lost, turn your clothes inside out because the elves are teasing you.

15. Dropping utensils means that someone’s coming. If a spoon falls, a woman will come. If a fork falls, a man will arrive.

16. If you point your finger at trees in an unknown places you have to bite your finger because if you don’t you’ll have bad luck.

17. When you bite your tongue, choose a number between 1 to 26 and determine its corresponding letter from the alphabet. The first one that pops into your head whose name starts with that letter means that the person just thought about you.
